PlasticSole Unveils 'Philosophical David': New Single & Recording Video!
Dear Listener! We've got incredibly exciting news to share. On Friday, June 13, 2025, we officially released 'Philosophical David', the powerful first track from our recent independent recording session with Ameritz Music Ltd. This song holds a special place in our hearts, stemming from a teenage dream of becoming rockstars that, after 30 odd years, finally came to fruition!
This track is a culmination of years of passion and dedication, marking a significant milestone for PlasticSole. What makes this release even more special is the accompanying video, meticulously produced by the record company, which offers a captivating glimpse into the recording process. You'll even spot the incredible Ben Byrne, drummer from the renowned band Starsailor, lending his presence to the session!
(The really eagle-eyed amongst you might notice the Starsailor drummer, Ben Byrne in it!)

"Billionaires & Presidents" by The Sextion (a sub-division of PlasticSole) - A Rapid-Fire Commentary on Power
"Billionaires & Presidents" is a cynical and critical commentary by The Sextion (a sub-division of PlasticSole) on the close, often corrupt, relationship between powerful political figures (Presidents) and wealthy individuals (Billionaires and Oligarchs). The track implies a system where these elites mutually benefit at the expense of ordinary people.
What makes this track even more remarkable is its spontaneous creation. It was written, recorded, mixed, and mastered in an astonishing four hours! The spark ignited at 11:00 AM during a rehearsal setup for an upcoming evening gig at the Amersham Arms in London on September 6th.
Our bass player and drummer started jamming the verse and chorus, and in a simultaneous moment of inspiration, both declared, "Let's ditch the rehearsal, let's record and release that today instead!" By 3:00 PM, the track was complete, a raw and immediate expression of political frustration.

The PlasticWolf Project: A Year Later
A year has passed since PlasticSole and Broken Wolf first joined forces at Robannas Studios in Birmingham. On Sunday, 20th October 2024, the two bands returned to the legendary studio to record not one, but two iconic tracks.
This time, they tackled Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town" and Black Sabbath's "Paranoid". The choice of songs pays homage to the rich musical heritage of Birmingham, the birthplace of heavy metal.
The recording session was intense and exhilarating. Both bands brought their A-game, and we are proud of the results.

The PlasticWolf Project
On October 15th 2023 PlasticSole and Broken Wolf teamed up to embark on a wild musical journey to accept a special challenge by Something Else Podcast. 💥
We took over a room at the legendary Robannas Studios in Birmingham, armed with our instruments and determination, ready to create some magic.
Inspired by the legends Brian May and Eddie Van Halen on the awesome Star Fleet Project, we set out to cover Judas Priest's "Breaking The Law", in a nod to the city and the delight at that song's unexpected appearance in the catchy KFC adverts. 🍗
