I Don't Like Mondays

The lead track holds a deep place in the band's history. When our drummer Steve was ten years old, his father brought a library record home. Steve dropped the needle on I Don't Like Mondays and played it obsessively, learning every word and melody. That exact moment sparked his lifelong obsession with music. This cover pays homage to that original spark, combining our signature heavy grit, melodic complexity, and raw, satirical edge.

The Ballad of Carla and Samuel: A Visual Masterclass by Charlie Rose

I think we can all agree that the best music videos are the narrative ones. Take On Me by A-ha, those iconic Aerosmith ones featuring Alicia Silverstone, and of course, the Michael Jackson classics. Imagine our complete delight when Charlie Rose presented us with exactly that kind of video for our track, The Ballad of Carla and Samuel.

We honestly could not be happier with what Charlie has delivered here. Their decision to take the story in a very different direction from the 'Natural Born Killers for the modern age' vibe of the lyrics was a complete surprise, and one we like more with each viewing.

The band had absolutely no involvement in this project whatsoever, but we honestly could not be happier with what Charlie has delivered here.

Charlie is an emerging talent in the content creation space, possessing a rare ability to combine technical excellence with a unique sensibility. That exact artistic grit resonates strongly with us, and we are deeply honoured that they took the time, energy, and effort to create this visual piece for our song.

The Something Else Podcast Goes Above and Beyond

We're not sure what we did to deserve it, but The Something Else Podcast has been overwhelmingly kind about our latest single, Nobody's Perfect.  The host, Ben, was nothing but complimentary, saying the song reminded him of "The Jam" and it sounds really "amazing!". 

We're honestly a little embarrassed by all the praise. We're just a small band from Milton Keynes, and we never expected to get such a warm reception from such a respected podcast.  But we're also incredibly grateful.  It means the world to us to know that our music is resonating with people.

Something Else Podcast - Unsigned Mayhem Episode #2

We were featured on the Something Else Podcast today along with The Shed Project and SaJoFo, which is really really cool. Apparently, according to the presenter, we sound "familiar but original" and "very authentic", which of course we couldn't agree more with, and they had some lovely things to say about the music video we did with Noel Read Photography. The favourable comparisons to Buzzcocks, The Who, and Arctic Monkeys were also very much welcome. Our views on the comparisons with Ed Sheeran will be kept to ourselves (but thank you!).

Esta fue la presentación que abría la edición 112 de La Próxima Estación.

Sometimes, nostalga is so hard, that it tricks us and it seems trying to convert the past into present. One flavour, one smell, one image... one sound, can take from your entrails that pain that takes you back to reality and you realise that that thing already belongs to world that is no longer yours. It is true, so you cannot stop time but you can indeed retain it. Conjure in such a way that, a song can make revive that instance in which something changed. And that's how you keep the essence of life, in a way that a song could make revive that instant in which something changed. And that is how you keep the essence of your life, in containers that can only be opened with specific stimulus and the music is one of these keys that lets you travelling in time.

PlasticSole did not go much further than their native city: Milton Keynes, in United Kingdom when, at the of last millennium, in 1999, they converted their dreams in a two sides demo. Or, which is the same, two songs contained in a EP that was charged of opening the theme that today opens "La Proxima Estacion" podcast, "English Teacher". I want to imagine that luck, when you look for it, converts into a luxury that avoids every try to get it and this was not the moment that history had reserved for them to grant her favours. 7 years passed, and again PlasticSole gathered their songs around a compilation with all that material they had treasured at that time, "The Whyte (Cottage Industries) Album" that outlined the path they had decided to take. Two years later they made it clear that they were not a casual anomaly in music and, going against the trends of the moment, made visible an album containing 5 good songs, 3 live versions and a demo, this was called "Surplus". Already in 2014, two of the components presented a handful of songs under the name "Jamie & Sigh - Complete Enough" that seemed to close their history. It may be so, or at least it seemed so, but this 2022 has wanted to bring those unjustly forgotten songs back to life, and they have done so by presenting a series of Ep's that premiered last January with "Return to Astro Wars" and at the moment, it has 4 more sequels that will see the light in the coming months, or that have already seen the light, as is the case with the previously heard song and that allows us to open another of those extended play. This one will open in a few days and includes a couple of shorts such as Johnny Remembers and this one, Northern Girl. PlasticSole.
