I Don't Like Mondays

The lead track holds a deep place in the band's history. When our drummer Steve was ten years old, his father brought a library record home. Steve dropped the needle on I Don't Like Mondays and played it obsessively, learning every word, melody, and drum fill. That exact moment sparked his lifelong obsession with music. This cover pays homage to that original spark, combining our signature heavy grit, melodic complexity, and raw, satirical edge.

  

Studio Chaos & Timpani Mallets

The recording session was pure, unscripted chaos. Producer Sighman wanted a spontaneous feel, so keyboardist Dann laid down his piano part in a single take. To keep a dynamic tempo without a rigid click track, Steve sat directly behind him, shouting lyrics, and beating out the rhythm on a towel-covered stool using timpani mallets. It was unconventional, but it locked the groove in perfectly.

Flipping the record over, Going On 64 captures an intimate, rare moment in time. Recorded the night before his wedding, Dann stepped away from the keys, picked up an acoustic guitar, and serenaded his guests. The single lands on his exact 20th wedding anniversary, adding a personal layer to this physical and digital release.
