PlasticSole, the band that mixes proper indie pop with massive hard rock, is dropping the new single, Yard Rat Boys. It’s a blitz of noise and a pure statement of style and attitude. Get ready for the chorus that sticks: "Sound off, sound off, the Yard Rat Boys / Smash it, grab it, loot it, steal".
The cover art tells the story. Drummer Steven Brindle shot this vision, a knot of silhouettes against the urban decay of the old Wolverton Railway Yard buildings, just before the track's live debut at The Craufurd Arms. This image, a perfect sign of the times, immediately became the visual signature for the new single; it couldn't have been anything else. The song's swagger, demanding proper black Chelsea boots and tight trousers, is fully captured in that striking monochrome photograph.
